I’m Becka.
I am a Catholic wife and mother of 2 littles. I got married in January of 2021 and very quickly had two babies. I wouldn’t trade this life for the entire world.
I am passionate about a lot of things - my faith, my family, childbirth, friendship, music, the list goes on.
I went to Texas A&M and Blinn College during my undergrad, and finished with degrees in Psychology, Philosophy, and American Sign Language.
During that time, I worked in youth ministry - specifically middle school students. After 5 years, I switched jobs to St. Mary’s Catholic Center in College Station. There I worked as the Assistant Music Director for 3 years.
I am now a stay-at-home mom and Catholic birth doula serving Bryan and College Station!
Why did I become a doula?
When I got pregnant with my firstborn, I spent a lot of time learning about childbirth in order to set up the best birth plan for my husband and I. We chose to go with the midwife-in-a-hospital delivery route, and it was great. We chose to stay with the same midwife and hospital for our second.
The big thing our midwife instilled in us was a sense of autonomy. We had control over our birth plan, and we felt confident in doing so by doing two things: taking a Bradley Method labor class and researching evidence regarding labor positions, medicines, and much, much more.
When I became a stay-at-home mom, I quickly realized that I missed certain elements of having a job. Of course I loved being with my kiddos, but I had more time on my hands than I anticipated. I didn’t want a full-time job, though, and I wanted complete control over my work schedule. So after some thought and discernment, here we are!
I want to be able to help women feel confident in their birth plan even if they don’t have the time to do all of the research and all of the classes out there. My passion (and now job) is to help women understand childbirth is not at its core a medical emergency, but a natural part of life.
